Park Cliffe beat off competition from more than 100 parks in the county to take the prestigious overall prize in the Cumbria Tourism 2011 Award for holiday parks. Accolades given by the tourist board are regarded as the Cumbrian Oscars by local holiday parks.

Judging for the holiday park category of the Cumbria Tourism Awards was carried out by a panel of tourism specialists and the park was also subject to a mystery shopper. "The judges placed a good deal of emphasis on the excellence of service received by holidaymakers, so our staff team here must take a good share of the credit for this achievement," Susan commented.
