Park Cliffe Camping & Caravan Park is located within four miles of the centre of the lakes at Bowness-on-Windermere in spectacular open and unspoilt countryside, set in 25 acres with unrivalled breathtaking views.

It is important that when planning your visit to Park Cliffe you approach from the direction of Newby Bridge as there is a very steep turn from the main road which should be avoided.  Please also avoid using satellite navigation systems to reach Park Cliffe as they tend to direct you along country lanes and via a ford.  Please follow these directions .

Park Cliffe has both touring pitches, camping pitches and privately owned holiday homes.

The park has both tarmac and gravel roads with clearly marked speed bumps.  Please drive with care and consideration, observing the 10mph speed limit.

The touring pitches are gravel hardstanding with a 10amp electric hook-up, drinking water and waste drainage.  Most are level pitches, a few are set in an elevated position. The roads around the touring park are gravel, all pitches have parking alongside the caravans.

We have two camping areas for tents.  The first, Ghyll Side, allows you to reserve your pitch, some are available with a 6amp electric hook-up.  This area is across a minor road from the main park.  The second area, Fell Side, offers magnificent views down the lake towards the Langdales and across to Coniston Old Man.  Fell Side is undulating and sloping in places and may not be suitable for people who find walking difficult.

The amenity block and restaurant, bar and shop are located in the centre of the Park – the distance from the furthest pitch is approx. 300 metres.

Ramped access brings you to the amenity block.  There are separate toilet and shower facilities for ladies and gents, two steps access these facilities.  A dishwashing area is available (under cover).  The launderette houses two washing machines, which take 50p x 3, a tumble dryer which takes 50p’s.  There is also a sink for hand washing clothes, an iron and ironing board.  There is a disabled bathroom containing a shower, toilet and basin.  This is accessed via a door lock, the code is available from Reception.  There is also a baby change room with a baby changing unit and basin.

Above the amenity block, reached via a flight of stairs are five private bathrooms providing a bath, basin, drying rack, toilet and heated towel rail.
Four can be hired on a nightly basis, one is available to use on an hourly basis.

Reception is open daily from 9am to 5pm, during high season it is open to 9pm.  If a guest needs assistance outside of these hours a notice is on the Reception door informing guests how to contact the Duty Warden.

The park has partial coverage on the Vodafone mobile telephone network and there is a payphone adjacent to Reception on the end of the farmhouse.

Camping and Calor Gas are available from Reception.

The Restaurant, Bar and Shop are open daily during school holiday periods, but at weekends (Friday evening until Sunday lunchtime) outside of these periods.  Access can be made via two entrances, one on the level opposite Reception and one via some steps adjacent to the amenity block.  The Shop provides a range of basic provisions including bread, milk, papers, toiletries, camping supplies, wine, beer, sweets and gifts.

Local taxis are Lakes Taxis Tel:015394 46777, B-line Taxis Tel: 015394 44644 they are able to accommodate persons who need assistance (ie wheelchairs).  There is an infrequent bus service into Bowness-on-Windermere.  This service runs from 6.28am to 22.18pm.  These buses are unsuitable for wheelchairs.  The pickup point is ¼ mile from the Park down a steep hill.  The nearest train station is Winderemere which is 5 miles away.
