Park Cliffe is set in peaceful rural surroundings, with some stunning views of the lake and mountains, and yet is only 4 miles from the centre of Bowness-on-Windermere, in the heart of the Lake District.

With a warm welcome, a beautiful setting and in easy reach of all the main tourist attractions, the central fells, and also the shopping towns of Kendal and Barrow, it’s little wonder that so many visitors return time and time again.  So, if you want your own little piece of Park Cliffe to come back to, why not consider indulging yourself with one of our luxury caravans or timber lodges.

A holiday home gives you the freedom to escape when-ever you choose; no more trying to book last minute breaks only to be disappointed, no more airport queues, your country retreat is always here for you and your family.

With a long season stretching the nine and a half months from March to mid December, there’s ample opportunity for plenty of holidays and short breaks throughout the year.  We have a great selection of holiday homes, but all come with the same high standard of furnishings and fittings, all have central heating and all offer home-away-from-home comfort.

The caravans and lodges are set in a quiet area of the park, separate from the main site but still within easy access off all the facilities we offer.  With the beautiful setting we enjoy at Park Cliffe, you’re sure to visit your own ‘room with a view’ again and again.

Sorry we do not have any caravan holiday homes for sale at present.  Please contact the office on 015395 31344 or email sales@parkcliffe.co.uk if you would like to be kept informed of anything that comes available.

Customer Testimonial – November 2014

“It is just over 3 years since we sited a tourer on a seasonal pitch on Park Cliffe. After two seasons we decided we loved Park Cliffe so much we upgraded and moved to a static caravan for our third season. We then enjoyed the static caravan so much we decided even before this, our first season was finished, to upgrade to a beautiful lodge with an unrestricted view over Lake Windermere and the Langdale mountains beyond.

Park Cliffe is well managed, well ordered and extremely tidy. It shows as the whole place is as immaculate as it is beautiful and the entire site in general is light and airy and beautiful flowers abound all around the site and especially around the clubhouse and reception areas.

FAQ's

When can I use my holiday home?

Park Cliffe allows its owners to use their caravan and lodges during the period 1st March to 19th December.

Can I move permanently into my caravan holiday home?

No. You are restricted to using it for holiday or recreational purposes. If you were to live permanently in your holiday home, this would be in breach of the site licence and pitch licence agreement with serious legal consequence.

Do you only sell new caravan holiday homes?

No, we occasionally have good second hand caravans in a range of prices. Sadly we can’t predict what second hand caravans we will have at any time, but if you are looking for a caravan with specific features or within a particular price range we will happily take your details and call you when a suitable caravan becomes available.

What are the annual running costs?

The annual pitch fee is due 1st December each year and is £3445 inc vat for the 2016/17 season for caravans and £3970 inc vat for lodges. This covers security on the Park, park maintenance, refuse collection, water, sewerage, use of the Park’s great facilities.
Rates are invoiced in July each year and are £451.98 inc vat @ 20% for the 2017/18 season.
Electricity is metered and customers pay for only the amount that they use.
Gas is also metered annually on some lodges where there is a bulk gas supply.
Holiday caravans (and some lodges) are provided with 2 x 47kg gas cylinders. They are fitted with an automatic change-over valve, so when one runs out, it changes to the second cylinder, and an indicator shows that you need to order another cylinder. The gas cylinders are ordered from the park office and are paid for at the point of ordering. One of our team will deliver and fit the gas cylinder for you.
The park is an Appointed Representative of Compass Insurance which offers comprehensive and competitive cover.

Is the park a member of a professional trade association?

Yes, Park Cliffe is a member of the BHHPA (British Holiday & Home Parks Association) General advice on purchasing a holiday home can be obtained from:
BH&HPA
Chichester House
6 Pullman Court
Great Western Road
Gloucester
GL1 3ND
Tel: 01452526911

Do we get any kind of agreement or contract for the pitch/caravan?

Yes, we use the standard contract produced by our trade association, the BH & HPA, and the NCC (National Caravan Council). This agreement is the contract that will be made between you and the park and it includes your right to keep the holiday home on the park for a given period of years and the times during which you can use your unit. Copies are available on request.

How long can I keep my caravan on the park?

You can keep your caravan at Park Cliffe until it is 10 years old (25-30yrs old for a lodge) subject to the licence agreement and park rules. From 2012 the licence agreement for new holiday caravans was increased to 12 years.

Can I rent my caravan/lodge out?

Immediate family and close, personal friends are all welcome to use your holiday home, but we do not allow the commercial letting out of caravans/lodges on the park.

Can finance be arranged for the purchase of the caravan/lodge through you?

Unfortunately we are currently unable to offer finance.

How much money would I get for my caravan or lodge if I decided to sell after a year?

If you were seriously thinking of owning a caravan or lodge for just one year, we would advise you not to go ahead as caravans & lodges are just like cars – they do depreciate and the first year is the worst. After that, it really depends on how well you look after it and the state of the economy.

What facilities do you have on the park?

We have a bar, restaurant, shop, games room, and a children’s play area. We also have beautiful landscaped grounds complimented with lots of peace and quiet. We don’t have a swimming pool, but there are local hotels that offer this facility.

Do you allow pets on the park?

We welcome well trained dogs that must be kept on a lead when on the park, but we reserve the right to refuse certain breeds and although we don’t allow dogs in the bar/restaurant area, we do have a lovely outdoor terrace area where your canine friends are more than welcome.

When are the bar, restaurant, shop open?

These facilities are open during school holiday periods and weekends during 1st March to 13th November 2016.

Are you a camping or caravan park?

We do accommodate campers and tourers but the holiday home part of the park is completely separate in a very peaceful area with lovely Lakeland views. In addition to the 46 holiday caravans we have on the park there are 9 holiday lodges, 5 of which are in another separate area “Ghyll Brow”, with the remaining 4 spaciously situated around the perimeter of the park.

Do you employ sales people?

No, you will be shown our caravans by the Park Manager or one of the Park Wardens. We are only there to advise you on the Parks facilities and the various models of caravan available. We strongly believe that the final decision should be yours to make without any pressure and in your own time. Some of our customers make several visits to the park before deciding on the right pitch and the right caravan, this is absolutely fine with us.

I am thinking of paying a visit to view the park and the caravans that you have for sale, should I just call in?

Although the reception is open for a lot of the time it is well worth phoning before hand to make sure that someone will be available to help you.
