Touring and Motorhomes:
A: All are hard standing with their own electric, water and drainage.
A: You need hard ground or rock pegs. We do not allow awnings on the grass.
A: 10amp.
A: Check in time is normally from 2pm.
A: Please check at reception, as it will depend on what arrivals we have that day.
A: We welcome well behaved dogs, but they must be kept on leads.
A: Due to the position of the park, with hills around us, TV reception can be variable, especially when it is windy. We have gone digital.
A: There are sockets in the shower blocks.
A: The showers are free of charge, and are open all the time.
A: There is a full size bath with shower attachment, (shower attachment is for rinsing only, it is not a stand-up shower) sink, toilet, hairdryer, drying rack and radiator. They are exclusively for the use of the hirer, and personal belongings can be left safely, as only the hirer has a key. They cost £14 per night.
A: This has all the same facilities as the private bathrooms, and also has a baby bath. This is available for 45 minutes per booking, for a £10 returnable deposit. We just ask that you clean it after use, leaving it in the same condition as you would wish to find it.
A: If our directions are followed, there is no problem. Please do not follow satnav, as it routes you along some quite narrow back roads. If approaching from the north (from Bowness) you will have to go past our road end and turn round elsewhere, as it is a sharp switch back turning.
A: We do have seasonal and part seasonal pitches; please ask the office for availability. Our season is 1st March to 13th November.
A: We do not have a storage facility, but in low season you can leave your van unoccupied during the week for £4 per night, and just pay full price at the weekends, subject to availability.
A: Bardea Leisure, at Ulverston, is the closest, and has an extensive range of accessories.
A: We cannot control the weather, so no refunds are given for early departures.
General:
A: We would ideally like arrivals before 9pm, but appreciate that traffic can be bad, especially at weekends. However, there is no access after 11pm, as the gates are locked then to try to ensure a peaceful night for all.
A: The vehicle will have to be parked outside the gates (ask at reception, and we will show you where).
A: We ask for quiet between 11pm and 7.30am. Please respect other campers who may be trying to sleep. We are a family site and will not tolerate anti-social behavior or language. Anyone causing a disturbance will be asked to leave, and no refunds will be given.
A: There is no lake access nearby, as the land is privately owned. We do not recommend that you walk along the A592 as it is very busy, and there is no pavement for much of it. We do have a walk (available in reception) that takes you to Bowness on footpaths, which takes 2 hours.
A: It costs around £12 each way.
A: The bus (618 Ambleside to Barrow service) runs close to the site, but there are only about 6 per day.
A: Fell Foot Park (national trust), 2.5 miles away, or Ferry Nab (2.5 miles).
A: Vodafone is the only reliable network.
A: We have free Wi-Fi in the bar and restaurant (please note only available when the bar and restaurant is open, closed midweek in low season).
A: It is 2 x£1 coins for a wash, and 50p for the drier.
