What’s the difference between camping & glamping?

Camping VS Glamping

So, what is the difference between camping and glamping?

Camping

When you go camping you have the hassle of putting up a tent, with, or more likely without any younger members of the families’ help, which can often not be the easiest experience in bad weather or the cold which hits the Lakes October – Easter time. So, when you don’t feel inclined to pull your tent out of the loft in the Winter or early Spring why not stay in a glamping pod? Camping is great fun and is a wonderful way to holiday – the British are certainly very accustomed to it – and we welcome all happy campers at Park Cliffe, even when the weather breaks! Although, the weather is quite unpredictable in our little bubble called The Lake District – it has got one thing going for it – the weather is usually temporary. Meaning that after a short downpour of rain the skies can eagerly lift the clouds of grey and flood our eyes with bright sunshine and if we’re fortunate a rainbow or two! New campers are always welcome at Park Cliffe, just like the seasoned professionals; if you’re ever short of advice or fall into arguments with your electric hook up cable, waterproofing of your tent we are always more than happy to help you on your holiday. There is no problem which was will not try to solve with you.

As for the British climate – there’s no such thing as bad weather just the wrong clothes!

We have had some brilliant summers of camping, and at either side through from Easter to the end of September! Camping is an experience like no other. Look no further to explore the outdoors from the foot of your tent.

On the other hand, when you go glamping you leave the tent at home. Hooray! so all those camping wannabees out there who like the ‘idea of camping’ can experience the joy of staying in the outdoors in the comfort of our glamping pods, many looking out over Lake Windermere. Glamping is the solution to getting your camping fix during colder and less seasonal months rather than bringing your electric heater and having the concern regarding how much of your tent is going to remain standing through the fierce wind.

What’s in a camping pod at Park Cliffe?

Campers guide to glamping:

What to bring:

Everything to go camping, but NOT THE TENT

Just to clarify this, however, does mean you need to still bring: bedding, camping mat/air mattress (depending on the pod you book) , chargers, a travel kettle (please don’t bring a domestic kettle from home!  food and drink, cooking equipment and appropriate clothes/shoes. Certainly enough stuff to fill your car to the brim!

For your information the electric is sufficient for travel kettles, charging electronics or small portable devices – leave your toasters and jumbo electric heaters at home please!

So, regular campers why not extend your camping season and stay in a pod?

Not camped before? Why not try a glamping pod?
