Park Cliffe is Reopening – Here’s what you need to know

10 June 2020Local area

We can't wait to welcome you back to Park Cliffe

We can’t wait to welcome you back to Park Cliffe, and in line with the latest Government guidance, we are now planning to reopen in early July for our private owners and seasonal touring customers.  We are currently accepting limited booking for holidays from 24th July 2020.

It’s likely that some of our usual services won’t be available and the way we all interact on the park will look very different.  To help us manage social distancing rules and ensure we can keep everyone as safe as possible we’ll be operating at reduced capacity.  This means we won’t be able to see all of you this year but we’ll soon be releasing booking dates for 2021.

The current Government guidance is for everyone to maintain social distancing with those outside your own household.  For this reason, we can only accept bookings from one household group for each caravan, cottage or pod and for a maximum of 6 persons. We will review this policy if and when the guidance changes.

Keeping COVID-19 safe

We’re continuing to observe all the rules and guidelines at Park Cliffe to keep our guests and staff safe. While visiting please continue to help us reduce the risk of infection spread:

• Please remember to keep your distance from those not in your household bubble at all times, including children.
• While holidaying with us, you must follow the social distancing and household mixing rules that apply to your local tier restrictions at home.
• All guests must wear face coverings in reception, the toilets and when accessing the private bathrooms, in line with Government guidance for areas where you may mix with those from outside your household and where social distancing may be more difficult.
• We are only allowing one person into our laundrette at a time, we aren’t asking you to wear a face covering in this area.
• Our communal shower blocks remain closed and please use your own facilities in your tourer or motorhome for teeth brushing and washing. (Pod guests are each allocated a private bathroom at the current time.)

Ways to stay

We are now accepting bookings for:

Touring Pitches

Touring pitches for caravans and motorhomes from 24th July if you can use your own toilet facilities, our shower blocks remain closed.

Rental accommodation

Our rental caravans are available to book from 10th July.  All our caravans have private bathroom facilities and can sleep up to 4 people in two bedrooms. (A travel cot and highchair are also available if needed.)

We can also offer a semi-detached lodge for rent from this date.  This sleeps 2 people in a double bedroom, and  has a shower room, open plan kitchen, lounge and dining area.

Moor View Cottage

Available for full week holidays arriving and departing on Saturdays from 24th July.  Short breaks available during low season, please ask. It sleeps 4 people in 3 bedrooms, and there are 3 bathrooms, an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area and a snug.  There’s parking for 2 cars, plus all the essentials you need for a family holiday, including a large garden, wifi and a smart TV.  (A travel cot and highchair are also available if needed.)

Glamping Pods

We will be allocating our two Premier Pods (sleep 5), two of our Family Pod Plus (sleep 4) and one Family Pod (sleeps 2 adults, 3 small children) to book, along with exclusive use bathroom facilities for the duration of your stay.  Stays can be booked from 24th July with a minimum 3-night stay during the summer holidays.

Unfortunately, we’re unable to accept camping bookings or bookings in our Shepherd’s Hut at this time.

Park Facilities

Our bar and restaurant will be open for takeaways in the evenings on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, and for Sunday breakfasts until 8th November 2020.

Our shop will be open at specific times and we’ll be serving from a new hatch at our outside door.  Unfortunately, our games room and tourist information area are closed and it’s unlikely we’ll be able to open the children’s play area unless Government guidance changes.

Our communal shower blocks will remain closed for the 2020 season.  We have opened our toilet blocks, wearing a face covering when using this facility is now mandatory.

The pot wash area will be open but with alternate sinks in use to help maintain social distancing.   Reception and the launderette will also be open but we’re restricting access to just one person at a time, and please use hand sanitiser before entering the buildings.  If you prefer, contactless check-in is possible on arrival at the Park, and we’re only accepting card or contactless payments.

Track & Trace

All short stay visitors details are captured on our reservation system for track and trace purposes.  Holiday home owners and seasonal touring customers need to register their visit at  If you do not have access to the internet please register with Reception.  From 23rd September 2020 Government has made registering your stay mandatory.  We encourage you to also log your stay using the NHS Covid app with the QR code for our business which you will find on Reception door and the statics barrier.

Some sensible precautions

We’re taking some practical measures to help protect our team and guests from COVID-19:

  • Hand sanitiser available around the park
  • Reminders about the importance of regular handwashing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  • Requesting everyone to respect the 2m social distancing guidelines at all times, including children
  • Increasing the frequency of cleaning, especially key touch points
  • Using a sanitising fogging machine in the rental accommodation prior to cleaning
  • Offering a contactless check in
  • Accepting card and contactless payments only
  • Restricting access to Reception and the Laundrette to one person at a time.

What about the unexpected?

If the current Government restrictions aren’t relaxed as planned for holiday parks from early, or if lockdown measures are tightened again in future, we may need to cancel your booking.  If this does happen, we will offer you a full refund or credit note.
