Yes, Bassenthwaite is a wonderful place to go paddleboarding in the Lake District. It is much quieter than neighbouring lakes, allowing you to explore the breath-taking scenery at a slower pace.
You will need to purchase a boat permit online before heading onto the lake with your SUP. These can be bought and cannot be purchased on the lake shore. Visitors are asked to have a digital or printed copy with them so that you can show it to ranger patrols.
