Say ‘No!’ to the plastic bag! Bring your own reusable one or reuse an old plastic bag!
Aim to buy items with less packaging.
Make use of our recycling bins on site to recycle your paper, cardboard, plastic, cans, tins and glass.

Making the most of public transport

Get out and about using the bus service which passes us to
get into Windermere, Bowness, Ambleside and Grasmere
further links to Kendal – just ask at reception!
Why not car share? Met a family pitched next door to you –
why not go on that trip on the Lake together?

Hire bikes

Bikes are available to hire all around the Lakes and are a great way to explore other than on foot – why not hire a bike and take the ferry across the Lake and bike to Wray Castle?
For cycle routes of all abilities – ask at reception!

Buy local

Take a trip to one of the local food markets that happen weekly in the local towns surrounding us. For a full description of what’s on offer check out our Farmer’s Market

Take part in our wildlife watch!

We hold the Gold standard David Bellamy Award and outside reception you’ll see our list of creatures which have been spotted at Park Cliffe! Is there anything we’ve missed, have
you seen something outside your tent? Come and chat to us and we’ll add the animal to the board! Keep your eyes peeled – or get binoculars out!

Bring your own water bottle

When you’re coming to stay without don’t forget your water bottle – we even have a filter water machine in the laundrette to fill them up! With your own bottle you’ll never
need to buy one again – save the money and invest in an ice cream by the Lake!
