Accessibility Statement

Please see our accessibility statement which provides general guidance on accessibility at Park Cliffe. We strive to ensure that all visitors enjoy their stay at our holiday park and that we are on-hand to offer assistance during your stay.

Park Cliffe Camping & Caravan Park is located within four miles of the centre of the lakes at Bowness-on-Windermere in spectacular open and unspoilt countryside, set in 25 acres with unrivalled breathtaking views.

It is important that when planning your visit to Park Cliffe you approach from the direction of Newby Bridge as there is a very steep turn from the main road which should be avoided. Please also avoid using satellite navigation systems to reach Park Cliffe as they tend to direct you along country lanes and via a ford. Please follow these directions.

Park Cliffe has touring pitchescamping pitchesglamping accommodation and privately owned holiday homes.

The park has both tarmac and gravel roads with clearly marked speed bumps. Please drive with care and consideration, observing the 10mph speed limit.  Parking is free for one car per pitch or accommodation and is either close to the accommodation/pitch or in the carpark adjacent to the park entrance.

The touring pitches are gravel hardstanding with a 10amp electric hook-up, drinking water and waste drainage. Most are level pitches, a few are set in an elevated position. The roads around the touring park are gravel and tarmac, all pitches have parking alongside the caravans.

We have two main camping areas for tents. The first, Ghyllside, allows you to reserve your pitch, some are available with a 6amp electric hook-up. This area is across a minor road from the main park.  There is some low level lighting in this area.  The second area, Fellside, offers magnificent views down the lake towards the Langdales and across to Coniston Old Man. Fellside is undulating and sloping in places and may not be suitable for you if you have mobility issues. Please contact the office and we’ll be happy to discuss alternative options for your stay.

Our couples pods are also located on the Fellside area in elevated positions.  To ensure all can enjoy a ‘dark skies’ environment we do not have any lighting on the Fellside area, we advise suitable footwear for undulating ground and the use of a torch at night to help you find your way.

We have 19 camping pods on the park, some are accessed via a series of steps.  Please enquire when booking to check suitability for your party.  Park Cliffe and Family Pods have a double electric socket with a small heater and light.  NB: the use of airbeds is recommended. In addition our Family Comfort Pods have 2 single beds and 2 pull out chairs beds and our Family Vista Pods have beds, one double, bunks and a pull out trundle bed (bedding is not provided).  Our newest pods are our Deluxe Pods which have a double bed, sofa bed, kitchenette, dining table & chairs and a shower room with WC, basin and towel rail.  Complemented by underfloor heating for a cosy stay and a decking area accessed by 3 steps at the front of the pod.

We have 1 shepherds hut situated in the corner of the touring area.  Accessed by 3 steps onto a decking area at the front of the hut you will find a double bed, table, sofa and kitchenette area.  The toilet & shower facility block is a short way away.

We have four holiday caravans for hire at Park Cliffe.  Three have one double and one twin bedroom and one has one double and two twin bedrooms, one twin bed can be replaced with a travel cot in each caravan.  They all have an enclosed decking area accessed via 1 or 2 steps, with a gate making it safe for children.

The amenity block and restaurant, bar and shop are located in the centre of the Park – the distance from the furthest pitch is approx. 300 metres.  A large print menu is available in the restaurant, please ask.  We have a pop up street food trailer on site.  These services operate on a seasonal basis, if these are important to your stay please confirm with reception availability of facilities.

Ramped access brings you to the amenity block. There are separate toilet and shower facilities for ladies and gents, two steps access these facilities. A dishwashing area is available (under cover).

The launderette houses three washing machines, which take 4 x £1 per wash, two tumble dryers which take 50p’s as well as a free filtered cold and boiling water machine. There is also a sink for hand washing clothes, an iron (takes 20p) and ironing board. Washing pods can be bought from Reception (50p each).

There is a disabled bathroom, which is accessed using a RADAR key, containing a shower, toilet and basin and we provide a baby change room with a baby changing unit and basin.

Above the amenity block, reached via a flight of stairs are five private bathrooms providing a bath, basin, drying rack, toilet and heated towel rail. Four can be hired on a nightly basis, one is available to use on an hourly basis.

Reception is open daily from 9am to 5pm, during high season it is open to 9pm. If a guest needs assistance outside of these hours a notice is on the Reception door informing guests how to contact the Duty Warden.  We have a portable induction loop available, please ask if you would like to use this facility.

The park has partial coverage on the Vodafone mobile telephone network.

Free Wi-Fi is available park-wide. This is sufficient for email and general web browsing.

Camping and Calor Gas are available from Reception.
