Park Cliffe is a family run holiday park situated in the very heart of the Lake District.  We are set in 25 acres of stunning unspoilt natural beauty.

At a glance

Level Access

There is access without steps from the main entrance to:

  • Reception
  • Fellside Bar
  • Facilities block including the private toilet/wetroom for disabled visitors
  • Shop (ask staff for access via the Bar)
  • Moorhow touring park
  • Ghyllside camping
  • Fellside camping (access to some pitches is on a grass slope)

Access with steps

There are steps from ground level to:

  • Camping Pods
  • Static Caravans
  • Shepherd’s Hut
  • Information room
  • Showers, toilets and laundrette
  • Private bathroom (accessed via staircase)

Visual

  • There are no full height glass doors or panels

General

  • There is a combined toilet and accessible shower for disabled visitors
  • Our gates are locked between 11pm and 7.30am so no vehicles can move on or off the site during that time

Parking

  • We have a car park. The parking is less than 20 meters from the main entrance. Parking is free.
  • There is a drop-off point at Reception
  • From the car park to Reception and the other buildings, there is level access. The path is sloped
  • The route is 2000mm wide, or more

Travel by taxi

  • You can get a taxi with Lakeside Taxis by calling 015394 88888. The taxi company has a wheelchair accessible vehicle

Travel by public transport

  • You can get to Park Cliffe by bus and train
  • The nearest bus stop is situated 0.4 miles/0.6 km from the site on the A592, at the junction of Birks Road
  • The nearest train station is Windermere. The train station is 5.9 miles/10 km from Park Cliffe
  • A taxi pick-up from Windermere train station can be arranged prior to arrival
  • Travel by taxi

 Reception entrance

  • The Reception entrance has level access
  • The door is 740mm wide
  • The main door is side hung and manual
  • Reception staff will come outside to your vehicle to assist if needed

Fellside Bar & Shop entrance

The Bar & Shop entrance has level access. Please ask staff for access to the shop via the Bar if required. (The main shop entrance has steps)

  • The external door is 1400mm wide. Routes through the bar and restaurant are 1000mm or wider
  • The internal door to the Shop is 800mm and access around the Shop is 800mm

 


Getting around inside

Visual Impairment – General Information

  • We have no full height glass doors and all buildings are well lit. All exterior steps around the facilities building are marked and lit

Hearing Impairment – General Information

We have a hearing loop in Reception

  • We can help you with pitching
  • You can park next to your tent and caravan
  • We have a level access shower in a private wet room
  • There is a shower chair available
  • The level access shower has handrails
  • The toilet has handrails
Fellside Bar main entrance

Launderette

  • From the camping areas to the laundry, there is level access with one step up into the launderette. The route is 2000mm wide, or more. The door is 780mm wide

The Fellside Bar

  • From the Reception and camping areas to the bar, there is level access. The route is 1800mm wide or more
  • The door is 1400mm wide
  • Routes through the bar are 1000mm or more
  • The Canine Corner dog-friendly bar room has level access from the touring areas. The door is 950mm wide

The Shop

  • From the bar entrance to the shop, there is level access. The route is 1000mm wide, or more. The door is 800mm wide. Please ask any member of staff for the level access route to the shop
  • The route through the shop is 800mm wide, or more
  • When the main shop is closed we have a small shop in Reception which has level access
The Shepherds Hut

Shepherd’s Hut

  • From the facilities building and Reception to this area, there is level access. You can park next to the Shepherd’s Hut
  • There are 4 steps into the Hut
  • The door is 670mm wide

Moor How touring park

  • From the entrance and facilities building to this area, there is level access. Your caravan or motorhome will be on gravel hard-standing
  • The roads and paths around the touring park are either tarmac or gravel
  • There is level access into the chemical toilet disposal building
couples pod

Fellside Camping and Couples Pods

  • From the main entrance to this area, there is sloping access on tarmac and gravel tracks.
  • You can park in the same area as the tent pitches but not on the grass.
  • The Couples camping pods have three steps to access them. You can park close to the pods but not next to them.
  • The Couples camping pod doors are 700mm wide.

Getting around outside

Outdoor playground

  • From the camping areas to this area, there is access via grass and gravel paths. The routes are 1100mm wide, or more
  • The Outdoor playground has level access. The ground is a mix of grass and woodchip
  • There is an inclusive basket swing
