Mission statement

Park Cliffe Ltd recognises that the environment is important to our business, our staff and our guests. We have a responsibility to manage our environmental impacts carefully, including meeting all legal and regulatory requirements. We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and continually improving our environmental performance as an integral part of our business strategy and operating methods, with regular review points. We will encourage guests, suppliers and staff to do the same.

Policy aims

We endeavour to:

  • Comply with and exceed all relevant regulatory requirements.

Continually improve and monitor environmental performance.

  • Incorporate environmental considerations into business decisions.

Work with our staff to ensure this policy is implemented.

Policy priorities

1.            Energy

  • We will take all feasible opportunities to introduce on-site renewable and low carbon energy sources.  We have installed 100kW solar PV and are introducing solar thermal to pre heat water for the facility block.
  • We will seek to reduce the amount of water & energy used as much as possible, including through investment to improve the energy efficiency of our building(s).

2.         Promoting carbon sequestration & biodiversity

  • In managing our site, we will continue to promote carbon sequestration and promote biodiversity, including through re-wilding parts of our site.

3.            Purchasing goods & services

  • In making decisions about the purchasing of goods & services, we will routinely and systematically take into account the environmental impact of those materials and their supply chain.
  • We will favour more environmentally friendly and efficient products wherever possible.

4.            Transportation

  • We will continue our transition to electric vehicles on site, and encourage & facilitate our staff to make a similar transition.

5.            Waste and recycling

  • We will continually seek to minimise waste, including through reducing/eliminating packaging in the shop.
  • We will seek to increase recycling levels.

Our Environmental Management System

We have developed an Environmental Management System (EMS) to ensure we meet the requirements of this policy. Our EMS is accredited by Green Small Business. Our accreditation is maintained through an annual audit carried out independently by Green Small Business

We will update this policy at least annually in consultation with staff and other stakeholders where necessary.
