Park Cliffe Camping & Caravan Estate

Park Cliffe Camping & Caravan Estate is a family holiday park providing glamping and holiday hire accommodation and pitches for touring caravans, motorhomes and tents.  To ensure your enjoyment and safety, and for the good management of the park and all those who use it, the following terms and conditions are in place and these form the agreement between us for your occupation of a touring caravan, motorhome or camping pitch, camping pod, shepherds hut, holiday hire caravan or self catering cottage.  We ask you to read the following before making your booking.

We reserve the right to ask guests who contravene these terms and conditions, or who in any other way are behaving in a manner likely to cause distress or nuisance to other visitors, to leave the park.  In these circumstances, the holiday ceases and we shall not be liable for any extra costs incurred by you.


Booking Conditions

When you wish to make a booking, you will complete a booking form (either via the website, over the telephone, by e-mail or at the site itself).  Once your booking has been accepted we will issue confirmation.  Until such time as the booking confirmation is issued the booking is not complete.

By making a booking request you warrant that you have the authority of all persons in your party to book on their behalf, you accept these terms and conditions and agree that you will indemnify Park Cliffe against all loss and damage arising directly or indirectly from any act or default by yourself or any person or animal accompanying you.

You must be over 18 years old to make a booking and to stay on site without other adults.

We are a family holiday park and cater for couples and families and reserve the right not to accept bookings from groups of more than 2 people.

The breakfast restaurant, pop up street food, bar and shop on site operate seasonal hours and will not be open throughout the season.  For details of opening times please see our website or contact us.

Due to COVID-19 and associated restrictions or impacts our bar/restaurant and shop may not be open as normal, please visit our website for up to date information.

We will try to ensure that all services and facilities connected with the site are available to you during your stay.  If services and facilities are not available due to circumstances beyond our control no liability will be attached to us and you will not be entitled to a refund.

Monies will not be refunded in the event that some members of your party fail to arrive, or you decide to leave the site early.

We reserve the right to terminate your permission to stay on site immediately if you or those in your party are in breach of these terms and conditions or are in breach of Park Rules.  If permission to stay is terminated because of such breach no monies will be refunded to you.


Fees

For one or two night bookings, full payment is required to be paid at the time of booking.

The following administration fees are payable at the time of booking in the case of advance bookings.

  • Touring Caravan/Motorhome – £30 per booking
  • Camping Pods/Shepherds Hut – £30 per booking
  • Holiday Hire Caravans – £40 per short break booking /£80 per weekly booking
  • Holiday Cottage – £100 per weekly booking

The balance of the holiday booking is payable not less than 28 days prior to the day of arrival or where holiday bookings are made less than 28 days prior to the date of arrival payment must be made in full at the time of booking.

Payment in full is required for all online bookings at the point of booking.

In the event that you fail to pay the balance of your holiday as due your booking will be cancelled and your administration fee forfeited.

You will be notified of the fees payable at the time of booking which will include VAT at the current rate.


Cancellation Policy

If you wish to cancel you booking you must notify us in writing by email.

If you cancel up to 14 days before the start date of your holiday, monies will be refunded to you less an administration charge*. Alternatively, you can transfer the monies already paid to a future booking with 12 months or a credit note will be given.  Credit notes are valid for the same or following season.

If you cancel up to 14 days before the start date of your holiday all monies will be lost.

*Administration charges:

  • Touring pitch, camping, pod & shepherds hut bookings – £30
  • Holiday caravan hire short breaks – £40
  • Holiday caravan hire weekly breaks £80
  • Cottage bookings £100

Temporary Cancellation Policy – 27.05.2022

Due to the ongoing concerns about COVID-19, we will continue to reduce our cancellation notice period from 14 days to 7 days for a refund, and to 3 days for a booking date transfer. We hope this will enable you to continue to make the best decision for your personal circumstances in the case of illness or the need to self-isolate.

Our normal policy may be reinstated when the Coronavirus crisis has fully passed. We will continue to monitor the Government’s advice and guidelines and update this policy should further restrictions or social distancing guidelines be brought into force.

Temporary Cancellation Policy for short stay holiday bookings

If you wish to cancel you booking you must notify us in writing by email.

If you cancel up to 7 days before the start date of your holiday, monies will be refunded to you less an administration charge.* Alternatively, you can transfer the monies already paid to a future booking or a credit note will be given. Credit notes are valid for 12 months.

If you cancel up to 3 days before the start date of your holiday, you can transfer the monies already paid to a future booking with 12 months.

Should you cancel within 3 days of the start date of your holiday all monies will be lost.

*Administration charges:
• Touring pitch, camping, pod & shepherds hut bookings – £30
• Holiday caravan hire short breaks – £40
• Weekly caravan bookings – £80
• Cottage bookings – £100

If we can no longer offer the holiday booked or we need to cancel your booking the following options are available:
• Transfer the booking to a future date (within 12 months)
• A full refund

 We recommend that our customers take out holiday insurance and check to see if they are covered for booking cancellations.


Group Bookings

Park Cliffe is primarily for families, couples and singles and to ensure everyone has an enjoyable holiday we expect certain standards of behaviour.

While we don’t encourage group bookings generally, we understand that on occasions you may wish to holiday with friends and family.  Please contact the office before booking so we can understand the expectations for your holiday and agree our sites rules. We will accept a group booking of up to 3 families, this also applies to family and friends who are visiting together and book individually.

Please note, if you book individually for more than 3 families/friends, you are doing so against our terms and conditions and booking rules.  In this situation we reserve the right to cancel your booking before arrival or to ask you to leave the park.

We have a strict ‘all quiet after 11pm’ rule so that everyone can enjoy a quiet night’s sleep and no excessive noise at any time.  Remember voices can carry (especially when on a mobile phone).

There’s no loud music allowed at any time – we are not a music festival and for some guests’ loud music can spoil their peace and relaxation.

For your safety and security and to minimise noise the Park gates are locked at 11pm and open at 7.30am. If you are out late, vehicles can be parked just outside the main gate. Then please tip-toe back to your pitches, remembering as you walk past tents and pods to have consideration for fellow visitors who may be asleep.

We love having children on the park but please remember they must be properly supervised to ensure they aren’t a nuisance or danger to themselves or others.

Please ensure BBQs are raised off the grass or placed on a gravel area.  (Stands are available from reception.)  They must never be placed on a deck area and please ensure they are completely cold (douse with water if in doubt) before disposing off.  We do not allow fires or fire pits on the park.

Touring & Motorhome Pitches & Camping

Pitches are available from 2.00pm on the date of arrival and must be vacated by 12.00 noon on the date of departure.  The latest arrival time is 6pm midweek, 9pm at weekends except by prior arrangement.

The basic price of your pitch entitles you to locate:

  1. One car and one tent/caravan/trailer tent (accommodating up to 2 people) or
  2. One motor home (accommodating up to 2 people) and one car.

The following incur an additional charge: additional people, pup tents, gazebos (by arrangement), pets and additional vehicles.  Please see our website for current charges or contact us.

Gazebos are not permitted on the ‘Ghyllside’ area of the park.

In order to ensure we have the correct space or pitch available please inform us of the size of your unit including tow bar (in metres) and including any awnings, tents or gazebos.

For the ‘Ghyllside’ camping area, it is important that you tell us the size of your tent (in metres) including any porch extensions.  Should you subsequently alter your requirements we cannot guarantee to provide an appropriately sized pitch.

Tent tags must always be displayed.

We will try to allocate you the pitch of your choice but a particular pitch cannot be guaranteed and you will not be entitled to a refund in the event that we cannot allocate you your preferred pitch.

In the event that you decide that you wish to stay beyond booked dates we cannot guarantee that this will be possible nor can we guarantee that the same pitch will be available.

The number of people and dogs occupying each pitch must not exceed the number stated in the booking request form.

Personal belongings are your responsibility and we will not be liable for any personal belonging lost/damaged during your stay.

Any damages or losses must be paid for before departure.

 


Camping Pods (Except Deluxe Pod)

Pods are available from 2pm on the date of arrival and must be vacated by 10am on the date of departure. The latest arrival time is 6pm midweek, 9pm at weekends except by prior arrangement.

The basic price of your booking entitles you to hire one of our camping pods  and locate one car.  The following incur an additional charge: pets and additional vehicles.  Please see our website for current charges or contact us.

Pods will accommodate the following:
Couples Pods, 2 adults
Park Cliffe Dog Friendly Pods, 2 adults, 1 child, 1 dog
Family Pods, 2 adults, 3 small children
Family Comfort Pods, 2 adults, 2 children
Family Vista Pods, 2 adults, 3 children

Gazebos are not permitted on the ‘Ghyllside’ area of the park.

We will try to allocate you the pod of your choice but a particular pod cannot be guaranteed and you will not be entitled to a refund in the event that we cannot allocate you your preferred pod.

If you decide that you wish to stay beyond booked dates we cannot guarantee that this will be possible nor can we guarantee that the same pod will be available.

The number of people occupying each pod must not exceed the number stated in the booking request form.

We have some pet friendly pods available, please inform us if you wish to bring a dog.

Personal belonging are your responsibility and we will not be liable for any personal belonging lost/damaged during your stay.

Any damages or losses must be paid for before departure.


Shepherds Hut / Deluxe Camping Pod

The Shepherd’s Hut and the Deluxe Camping Pod are available from 3pm on the date of arrival and must be vacated by 10am on the date of departure. The latest arrival time is 6pm midweek, 9pm at weekends except by prior arrangement.

The basic price of your booking entitles you to hire a shepherd’s hut (accommodating up to 2 people) or a self catering glamping pod (accommodating up to 2 adults and 2 children)and locate one car.  The following incur an additional charge: additional vehicles.  Please see our website for current charges or contact us.

We will try to allocate you the accommodation of your choice but a particular unit cannot be guaranteed and you will not be entitled to a refund in the event that we cannot allocate you your preferred unit.

If you decide that you wish to stay beyond booked dates we cannot guarantee that this will be possible nor can we guarantee that the same unit will be available.

The number of people occupying each unit must not exceed the number stated in the booking request form.

Pets are not allowed in the shepherd’s hut or deluxe camping pod.

Personal belonging are your responsibility and we will not be liable for any personal belonging lost/damaged during your stay.

Any damages or losses must be paid for before departure.


Holiday Hire Caravans & Self Catering Cottage

Our holiday caravans sleep a maximum of 4 people for the 2 bedroom caravan or a maximum of 6 people for the 3 bedroom caravan; the semi detached lodge sleep a maximum of 2 people and the self catering cottage sleeps a maximum of 4 persons and you will be in breach of these terms and conditions in the event that you allow more people to occupy the holiday accommodations without obtaining prior permission from Park Cliffe.  We cater for couples and families and reserve the right not to accept bookings from single sex groups of more than 2 people.

Holiday caravans and the self catering cottage are available from 4pm on the date of arrival and must be vacated by 10am on the date of departure. The latest arrival time is 6pm midweek, 9pm at weekends except by prior arrangement.

The basic price of your booking entitles you to hire a 2 bedroom holiday caravan (accommodating up to 4 people) or a 3 bedroom holiday caravan (accommodating up to 6 people) or a self catering cottage (accommodating up to 5 persons) and locate one car.  The following incur an additional charge: dogs where allowed.

We will try to allocate you the holiday caravan of your choice but a particular holiday caravan cannot be guaranteed and you will not be entitled to a refund in the event that we cannot allocate you your preferred holiday caravan.

In the event that you decide that you wish to stay beyond booked dates we cannot guarantee that this will be possible nor can we guarantee that the same holiday accommodation will be available.

The number of people occupying each holiday accommodation must not exceed the number stated in the booking request form.

We have both pet free and pet friendly holiday accommodations available, please tell us at the time of booking if you wish to bring a dog (maximum number 2, maximum 1 in the cottage).  Please do not allow your dog access to the bedrooms or to lie on the lounge seating or the beds.

Personal belonging are your responsibility and we will not be liable for any personal belonging lost/damaged during your stay.

Any damages or losses must be paid for before departure.


The Pitch

Pitches must be kept clean and tidy and free from litter/rubbish.

Waste must be disposed of promptly in the bins provided on site.

The erection or placing of any structure other than tents/touring caravans/motor homes is prohibited.


Accommodation

We reserve the right to enter your accommodation at any time for any reasonable purpose, for example to undertake checks, maintenance work or housekeeping. Your occupation is not exclusive.

We reserve the right to make a reasonable charge to you for any damages, missing items or extra cleaning, including damage to other guests’ property.

You are requested to bring your own waterproof mattress protectors if required as you will be liable for the replacement of any mattress which is soiled by you or your party.


Lost Property

For any lost property, please contact the Park Reception as soon as possible as any lost property will be disposed of after one month.


Motor Vehicles

Only one private motor vehicle is permitted on each pitch unless authorised by Park Cliffe. Goods vehicles and commercial vehicles are not permitted on pitches.

Motor vehicles are only permitted where the following conditions are complied with:-

All vehicles must confirm to the Road Traffic Act and have current tax, MOT and insurance. The provisions of the Highway Code apply to the roads on the park.

Please ensure vehicles are left in a safe position in gear with the handbrake engaged on any sloping ground on the park.

On the Fellside camping area, vehicles must be parked fully or partially on the roadside and not parked fully on the grass.

You must not keep any disused or un-roadworthy vehicles anywhere on the park. We reserve the right to remove any vehicle which is apparently abandoned.

Anyone driving on the park must hold a full driving licence. You are not permitted to give anyone driving lessons on the park and learner drivers are not permitted to drive on the park.

The speed limit on the estate is 10 miles per hour and must be strictly observed.

Drivers must not cause a nuisance through excess revving, warming up periods or otherwise.

For safety reasons customers are not permitted to use the electric on the pitches or at in the rental accommodation for charging electric vehicles. There are charging points available in the main car park.

Quad bikes, trials bikes and powered scooters are not permitted on the park. This does not prevent you from using a disability scooter where this is required to support your disability and the relevant authority has issued you with a certificate.


Drainage System

You must not introduce any foreign items into the drainage system including cleaning cloths, babies’ nappies, sanitary towels, condoms, cooking fat, engine oil, grease or paint.

Chemical toilet waste must be disposed of promptly at the disposal point on the estate.


Dogs & Other Animals

The keeping of any pet or animal of whatever nature is at the absolute and unfettered discretion of Park Cliffe whose consent must be requested before the pet is brought onto the site. If circumstances justify it, the consent can be revoked at any time. Breeds subject to the ‘Dangerous Dogs Act 1991’ are not permitted at all.

For bookings for camping pods and holiday hire caravans, dogs are only permitted in specific units. Please specify if you will be bringing a dog when making a booking.

Where pets are allowed:

  • They must be kept under proper control on a short lead so as not to be a nuisance to or frighten other users of the park.
  • Pet owners are required to clean up after their pets.
  • Do not leave your dog unattended at any time.
  • Please exercise your dog away from the pitches on the park perimeter where marked on the park plan.
  • Please do not allow your pet access to the bedrooms or to lie on the lounge seating or the beds in the
    rental accommodation.
  • Nothing in these Park Rules prevents you or any member of your party from bringing an
    assistance dog to the park, or from using the dog exactly as at home, if this is required to support
    a disability and Assistance Dogs UK or any successor body has issued an Identification Book or
    other appropriate evidence (so long as the accommodation allows pets).

Holiday Behaviour Standards

Occupiers are reminded that they are responsible for the conduct of their guests and family and you must make sure that all people who use of visit your caravan (including, in each case, children in their party) keep to, the following standards of behaviour.

To act in a courteous and considerate manner towards us, our staff and anyone visiting, using or working on the Caravan and/or the Park including other customers.

You further agree that you will not:

  1. Commit any criminal offence (whether or not on the Park or in its vicinity) which causes your name to be entered on the Violent and Sex Offender Register or causes you to be subject to a Risk of Sexual Harm Order or Child Abduction Warning Notice (or any register, order or notice succeeding these).
  2. Use the Park in connection with any criminal activity or commit any other criminal offence (i.e. any offence not already subject to the clause above) at the Park or in its vicinity;
  3. Commit acts of vandalism or nuisance at the Park.
  4. Keep or carry any firearm or any other weapon on the Park.
  5. Use fireworks, Chinese lanterns or any similar open flame heat source on the Park.
  6. Keep or use any unlawful drugs at the Park.
  7. Create any undue noise or disturbance or commit antisocial behaviour on the Park.
  8. Respect the privacy of other guests and keep noise to an absolute minimum.
  9. Carry on any trade or business at the Park.
  10. Permit anyone who is to your knowledge on the Violent and Sex Offender Register or subject to a Risk of Sexual Harm Order or a Child Abduction Warning Notice (or any register, order or notice succeeding these) to use or visit the Park.

Musical instruments, CD players, radios, televisions and other appliances must not be used in such a way as to cause nuisance to others.

No excessive noise is permitted at any time and in particular at night between 2300 hours and 0730 hours. Please respect your fellow guests and keep noise to an absolute minimum.

It is illegal to smoke or use e-cigarettes inside enclosed public buildings. Outdoor smoking areas are provided.
You must also refrain from smoking or using e-cigarettes in any of our holiday accommodation.

Open fires and ground level barbecues are not permitted. Barbecue stands must be used and are available from reception.

You may only use charcoal-based barbecues only, no wood or fuels that cause sparks or any similar open flame heat source.

Never take a barbecue into a caravan, tent, pod, hut, porch area or awning. Even if extinguished a barbecue can give off lethal fumes. Always use barbecues away from your unit, in a well-ventilated area.

You must not leave any litter on the ground. Please use the bins provided around the estate and keep the estate and facilities clean and tidy. No firearms or offensive weapons of any kind are allowed on the estate.

Cutting or damaging trees and other vegetation is strictly prohibited, and the natural condition of trees and vegetation is to be preserved. The tying of ropes to trees is not permitted.

You must not dig any holes or trenches on the Park.

Please ensure that you pitch a tent at least 3 metres from your neighbour and where possible campers are requested to lift their ground sheets daily to help keep the grass in good condition.

Guests should report all accidents to reception.

Day visitors must report to reception on arrival on site.

Save for drugs taken in accordance with treatment prescribed and directed by a qualified medical practitioner drugs are not permitted on the estate. Any person found in possession of such drugs and the rest of his or her party will be asked to leave the estate immediately and all monies paid will be forfeited. The Police will be called.

The use of generators is not permitted.

You must not trespass on nearby farmland.

You agree that if you or any of your family members or visitors or guests whom you have invited to the Park break the behaviour standards listed above then we may terminate your booking.

For security we lock the barrier access gates to the main park at 11pm and reopen at 7.30am.  For emergency access please contact the Duty Warden.  Contact details can be found on the Reception door.


Fire Precautions

You must ensure that all occupants of your Caravan are familiar with the location of the Fire Points and the contents of the Fire Notices displayed at each point.

You must not store fuels or combustible materials other than removable containers on the park.


Recreation

You must supervise children properly so that they are not a nuisance or danger to themselves or others.

Never allow children to play near streams/rivers unsupervised as there can be areas of deep water.

Please ensure that your children always behave in a responsible manner particularly when they are cycling, roller skating, skate boarding, roller blading, using a scooter or playing ball games.

Powered scooters are not permitted on the park. This does not prevent you from using a disability scooter where this is required to support your disability and the relevant authority has issued you with a certificate.

Children must not play in the play area after dusk.

Sport and games are not permitted in close proximity to other pitches.

You may not use drones, powered model car or aircraft or any other powered flying objects on the park.

Underage drinking is not permitted on the estate.


Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi is available and is free of charge.  Our Wi-Fi can be restricted at peak periods and the service may not be the same as you are used to at home.


Facilities

The usual opening and closing dates of our facilities are provided on our website. However, the dates and times of opening may be subject to change depending on seasonal fluctuations or unforeseen circumstances. We will do our best to advise you at the time of booking of any changes at that stage, otherwise please always check prior to booking if this is important to your stay.


The management reserves the right to require the immediate vacation of any person(s) who persistently fail to comply with the booking terms and conditions.


Complaints

If you have a complaint about anything during your holiday, please raise it with a member of our staff immediately.
