We will be supporting local charity, Growing Well for the 2025 season
Giving back to the local community is really important to us here at Park Cliffe. So, every year we pick a Cumbria-based charity to support through a variety of on-park fundraising events and initiatives.
This year, we are delighted to partner with Growing Well – a fantastic charity supporting adults with mental ill-health through clinically supported therapeutic horticulture. Last year, Growing Well supported over 290 people at their Low Sizergh site alone!
Park Cliffe Director, Susan Dickson recently met with Growing Well’s Partnerships Manager, Rebecca Batstone to learn more about the incredible work they do. It was a really insightful visit. Susan loved touring the grounds and learning about the beneficiaries fantastic achievements and the impact the charity has had on their recovery.
Growing Well are based at three farm sites across Cumbria and North Lancashire and have a 20-year track record of transforming lives.
Their programmes are clinically designed and are able to work with people at all levels of need, including those with moderate to severe mental illness. 90% of participants showing significant improvements in mental health according to a clinically assured scale.
The charity is partly funded by the sale of fresh produce produced on their farms. This means their participants can see the fruits (and veg) of their labour on their own table, and even in their local supermarket.
We have lots of events planned at our Lake District holiday park throughout the year that will help raise much needed funds for this fantastic charity.
The first event, our annual Easter Duck Race took place over the Bank Holiday Weekend and was well attended by visitors staying at Park Cliffe! We raised over £400!
