Seriously Spooky events!

Dare you visit one of Britain’s most haunted castles this Halloween?! This year our Seriously Spooky event will be running for the full week so plenty opportunity to come and visit! Enjoy lots of fun filled daily activities, including the “Sledgehammer House of Horrors” themed show running each day, every hour from 4pm throughout the evening in the Castle itself (additional ticket required) Plague medicine workshops, lantern and drumming workshops and fabulous fire shows. Be entertained by the Witch Warbler trails around the gardens, the Terrifying Terrace and Maze, even a Juggling Jester! Enjoy spending time in the Halloween themed gardens and the Enchanted Trail The site opens from 10.30am through to mid-evening with Halloween activities each day commencing from around lunchtime Local food stalls and Creeping Kate’s Café and Owl Garden Tea Room will be available for refreshments each day
Also, the Castle will be open for guided tours as normal throughout the day and the 11.30am World of Owls and 2pm Sky Hunters shows to take place daily.Twilight Owls events will be running each evening – See the Hawk & Owl Centre’s fantastic Twilight Owls display when our falconers fly a selection of our beautiful owls in the gardens after dark (separate tickets required).

Tickets are available as ‘full pumpkin passports’ (ages 7+, advised 4-5 hours to complete) or ‘mini pumpkin passports’ (ages 3+, advised 3-4 hours to complete) which are used to gain entry to the above events. Please note that the Tree Top Trek, Nets and large free Adventure Playground are still open as normal.

Spooky Halloween Hunt for those who find themselves in Coniston for the day or who perhaps are already planning on visiting The Ruskin Museum. At £1 a go for an activity sheet it could be a great addition to your day out with the children. Coniston is North of Park Cliffe and can be reached by driving around either on the east or west side of Lake Windermere and is a great rural drive to get there.
