Claife Heights is a viewing station on the banks of Windermere and well worth a visit during your stay at Park Cliffe. From the elevated position visitors can enjoy panoramic vistas of the surrounding scenery and a quiet place to sit and reflect while exploring The Lakes.
It dates back to the 1830’s and was once a fashionable tourist destination. It is now owned by the National Trust and features an iconic stained glass window. Each panel has been tinted in a different colour to represent what the view would look like in different seasons e.g. yellow – summer, orange – autumn, green – spring, blue – white.
There is a cafe and courtyard on site to enjoy a bite to eat and refreshing drink before you head to your next point of call. You can reach Claife Heights viewing station via the ferry, which is located just a short walk away.
