Fell Foot is owned by the National Trust and a must visit during your Lakeland holiday. Situated at the southernmost tip of Lake Windermere, this well-maintained country park boasts wonderful views and ample space for families to relax, unwind and spend time in the great outdoors. There’s easy access to the lake, providing the ideal place to swim, paddle or simply take in the far reaching views from the jetty. There’s plenty of facilities including toilets, secure lockers, changing rooms, a cafe.
Fell Foot park is open year round. Whatever the time season you choose to visit, you’re guaranteed impressive views over the lake from this popular spot. Pack a picnic to enjoy on the shoreline or explore the area by foot. The walks are fantastic if you just fancy a leisurely afternoon stroll and nothing strenuous!
The expansive lawns provide plenty of room for outdoor games and there’s also a play area for children to let off some steam. The Gothic revival boat houses have recently been restored and our now open to the public and the park boast an interesting history. Dogs are welcome.
If you fancy getting out on the water during your summer visit to Fell Foot, there is plenty of equipment available to hire. Treat your family to a trip in a traditional rowing boat. Or if you’re feeling a little more adventurous you could rent a kayak or stand up paddle board. Under your own paddle power you’ll be able to explore the lake at your leisure. Make sure you take time to appreciate the stunning scenery at Lake Windermere.
National Trust members can park for free, whereas non members must pay and display. Throughout the year the park plays host to various events. These include nature walks, park yoga and park run.
